Our primary mission is to provide helpful and considerate patient care. We also aim to educate and produce highly qualified, ethical and caring future neurosurgeons. Additionally, we strive to advance the field of neurosciences by performing outstanding research.

More than two dozen faculty physicians and Ph.D. researchers from the UT Health Science Center San Antonio and the Regional Academic Health Center visited schools recently in observance of National Doctors’ Day. Among them were David F. Jimenez, M.D., FACS, (pictured left) professor and chair of the Department of Neurosurgery.

CTRC radiosurgery eases patient's mind

Doctors are now able to pinpoint radiation to the tumor's precise location. This new therapy, called Steriotactic Radiosurgery, is not only less invasive and takes less time to perform than the traditional method but also mitigates a patient’s potential of suffering from Dementia. KSAT has the story of one local woman’s experience with this new treatment.
